PAWS Veterinary Clinic was created out of a passion for decreasing animal suffering in our community, as well as reducing the burden on our local animal rescues & shelters. To attain this goal, we have to directly address the pet overpopulation issue, by spaying & neutering our community’s cats & dogs before they produce more unplanned puppies & kittens. To do this, owners and cat caretakers need access to affordable routine spay & neuter services, which we offer at our clinic.
We also offer affordable preventative care, such as vaccines, heartworm testing, and dental care. Since, basic pet care is also out of reach for many pet owners and leads to relinquishment of pets. Also, getting routine preventative care (e.g. vaccines, heartworm prevention, dental cleanings) can decrease the chances of some disease processes, decreasing the chances of having to treat costly medical conditions later on (e.g. parvo, lepto, heartworm disease, & dental disease).
We also started a non-profit, Snippin’ N Tippin’, which will be used to subsidize and lower the costs of spaying & neutering even more. This will be for animals with no owners (community & feral cats & rescue animals) and pets from low-income families. We will aim to target bully breed dogs and cats, both of which are the most abundant animals in shelters and also tend to take longer to adopt out (if at all). We hope to start up a community & feral cat program, i.e. Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Release (TNVR), for cats that have caretakers, but no actual owner, to get them spayed & neutered and any additional care they need.
If you’d like to “spay it forward” and donate to help an animal in need, you can do so through our Venmo @snippinNtippin or contact us at the clinic.
