Snippin’ N Tippin’ is a “sister” non-profit to PAWS Veterinary Clinic and was created to work in conjunction with the clinic.

Our goal is to be able to secure funding via grants and donations through Snippin’ N Tippin’, to be able to subsidize the costs of spaying, neutering, vaccines, and other veterinary care for pets whose owners may not otherwise be able to afford that care. This care would be provided through the clinic, similar to a voucher program.

These programs will not only benefit the individual animals and their owners, but also the general public. Spaying and neutering our community’s cats and dogs means less unplanned and unwanted animals will enter our already overburdened shelters and rescues. The only way to combat our pet overpopulation problem is to reduce the number of animals being born by spaying & neutering.  Many animals are also relinquished due to owners not being able to afford veterinary care. By making veterinary care more affordable for owners, more of our community’s pets will stay in their homes and out of our shelters and rescues. Having animals vaccinated in the area means less disease in the area, decreasing the chances of your pet coming into contact with and possibly acquiring these (sometimes fatal) diseases (e.g. parvo, distemper, panleukopenia, kennel cough, rabies, etc.).

When people caring for these animals can’t afford care, they may go without food & medications they need for themselves or forgo paying their rent/mortgage or other financial obligations to pay for their pet’s vet care.

Overall, having healthy animals in our community helps to reduce animal and human suffering and this is our ultimate goal.

Our non-profit differs from some other similar non-profits in that our president is not only the main veterinarian performing the services, but she is also the owner of the clinic where the services will be provided. We will always have a veterinarian on staff and we’ll also always have somewhere to perform the services, meaning consistent availability. We also only employ staff that aide in administering medical care for the animals and don’t routinely hire relief veterinarians (which cost more than employed veterinarians). Therefore, more of the donor’s money goes towards the actual care of the animals, meaning we can help more animals in need.
